I was pretty new to the world of juicing and I did a bit of research before going out and buying this machine. After spending hours and hours researching the best juicers, I felt more confused than ever. There were so many conflicting reviews, so I wasn’t sure which machine to pick.

In the end, I opted to go for this Philips juicer because of all the good reviews. The machine also look pretty good as well. Even if it didn’t turn out as a good juicer, it would look pretty on my countertop at least!

But I’m glad I got it for a variety of reasons:

  1. It makes fantastic juice. The machine churns though large amounts of apples, oranges, grapes, and any other fruit or veggie you might throw at it. I was actually quite surprised at how much juice I got out of a single apple. This model also has a really large chute – you can throw in whole apples and oranges (for oranges, you are technically suppose to remove the peel because of the bitter taste). For non citrus fruit, you can just toss them right in.
  2. It’s not that loud. I heard many reviews about just how loud juicers can be. But the Philips juicer was actually fairly quiet – about as loud as a kettle.
  3. It’s small(er). Some juicers I looked at were just massive. But this juicer is actually pretty unobtrusive – size wise. It’s only about the size of a kettle. I live in a bachelor apartment and the juicer can squeeze into my limited counter space with no problems.
  4. It’s easy to clean! This was something I was very worried about. I don’t like spending time cleaning things up and I didn’t want to spend as much time cleaning up as making juice. However, this juicer is stupid-easy to clean. It’s easy to put it back together as well. Philips also included a brush for the blade that mashes the fruit up.
  5. It squeezes every last drop of juice of the fruit. I read other reviews that said certain juicers did not extract all the juicer – but not this juicer!
  6. The juicer doesn’t make that much of a mess. I’m a bit of a messy person, but even I can make juice without mess with this machine.

Lest you think  this is a perfect machine, there are a few things it just won’t do:

  1. It won’t juice starchy fruits (bananas, mangos, etc). I think this is the case for most juicers though.
  2. It won’t clean itself. You can wash it in the dishwasher though if you are feeling really lazy.

In summary, I’m quite happy with this juicer. It’s easy to use and does a good job at juicing. What more can you ask from a juicer?
